River cruise ship on a calm European waterway

Why book with us

Honest advice. No hard sell.

Bob Murphy has been planning European cycling and cruise holidays for over two decades. He's ridden the routes, sailed the rivers, and stayed on the boats. When you ask him a question, you get a straight answer — not a brochure.

What makes Bob different

Most travel agents sell what earns the best commission. Bob sells what he'd book himself. He loves cycling and cruising, a traveler who's done the research, and an independent advisor who has no obligation to any single operator. His job is to find the right trip for you — not to fill a quota.

Bob Murphy — independent travel advisor
01

He's done the trips himself

Bob has cycled the Netherlands, the Danube, the Rhine, Croatia, France, and Portugal. He's sailed the rivers on the boats he recommends. When he says a route is flat or a boat is well-run, it's because he's been there — not because the brochure says so.

02

Independent, not tied to one operator

Bob works with multiple operators across every destination. He's not locked into one company's product range. If a different operator runs a better boat on your dates, that's who he'll recommend — even if the commission is lower.

03

He matches trips to people, not the other way round

A 70-year-old couple and a pair of 45-year-old cyclists might both want a Netherlands tour — but they need very different boats, routes, and pacing. Bob asks the right questions before he makes any recommendations.

04

One person, start to finish

You deal with Bob from the first enquiry to the day you get home. No call centres, no handoffs, no 'your account manager has changed'. If something goes wrong mid-trip, you have one number to call and one person who knows your booking inside out.

05

He knows the operators' real track records

Brochures all look the same. Bob knows which operators have the newest boats, the best guides, the most reliable departure schedules, and the strongest contingency plans when water levels drop or itineraries change.

06

No pressure, no upselling

Bob's business runs on repeat clients and word of mouth. He has no incentive to oversell or push upgrades you don't need. If the standard cabin is fine for what you want, he'll tell you.

What clients say

Bob has arranged several vacations for us at fantastic prices. We've done two European cycling trips with Bob where he arranged every detail perfectly for us! Even when a hotel had cancelled he arranged a new one without hesitation. We could not have done these trips as easily without him. Croatia and Amsterdam were amazing.

How it works

1

Tell Bob what you're after

A quick call or email — where you want to go, when, how many people, what kind of cycling you enjoy, and what you've done before. Ten minutes is usually enough.

2

He puts together a shortlist

Two or three options that genuinely fit your brief, with honest notes on the differences. No 30-page PDF of every tour in Europe.

3

You ask questions, he answers them

No sales pressure. If you need time to think, take it. If you want to compare with another agent, go ahead. Bob's confident the advice will stand up.

4

Book, and he handles the rest

Deposits, documentation, pre-trip logistics, any special requests. And he's reachable throughout the trip if anything comes up.
